Born from a long lineage and musical heritage, the acoustic guitar is steeped in tradition. But music continues to evolve, and musicians demand inspiring new tools with which to carve out their own signature sound. In that spirit, we introduce Ibanez AE, our flagship series of acoustic-electric guitars, offer supreme tone and playability, and represent another great chapter in the acoustic guitar tradition.Comfort Grip Maple neckThe Comfort Grip Maple Neck contour provides superior playability.Thermo Aged Ovangkol fretboardThermo Aged, a special drying process, makes the Ovangkol fretboard light and harder and provides increased stability.Solid Sitka Spruce topSolid Sitka Spruce top provides an enormous frequency range that offers wave after wave of shimmering highs along with tight mids and a full-bodied low end.Flamed Maple back and sidesFlamed Maple back and sides create an attractive visual profile and offer bright and tight tones.Ibanez T-bar Undersaddle pickupThe Ibanez T-bar Undersaddle pickup accurately translates that full sound to whatever amplification system you plug it into.Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp w/Onboard tunerThe Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp provides the extra punch of on-board EQ along with a convenient and easy-to-read digital tuner and 2-band EQ, located on the instrument's upper bout.Thermo Aged Ovangkol Scalloped bridgeThe lightweight, scalloped bridge enhances vibration transfer for improved resonance and offers greater flexibility when adjusting the action compared to a traditional bridge. Thermo Aged, a specialized drying process, makes the bridge even lighter and harder for increased stability.Ibanez Advantage bridge pinsThese pins really are an advantage over old-fashioned pins. Advantage pins are easier to take out and easier to put in than standard pins. A special bulb-shaped end makes the pin easy to grip and also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far. Best of all, with Advantage the pin and string stay put.A.I.R.portThrough intensive research and development, we have designed the A.I.R.port with a unique internal structure that reflects sound waves and guides them to exit from a precisely positioned sound hole. As a result, players can monitor what they are playing more clearly, which enhances the overall playing experience.X-M BracingAfter spending years of trial-and-error, Ibanez realized the out-of-the-box X-M Bracing to generate the ultimate sound standing out on the stage. The carefully designed scalloped X-bracing, the allocation of tone braces, and finger braces transmit the string vibration efficiently through the bridge to the body. The X-M Bracing creates the clear bottom and crispy treble sound with trimmed warm mid-range, yet provides a wide dynamic range and high response.AE body shapeDesigned for projection, balance, and comfort, the AE's perfectly crafted contemporary body shape offers the best of all worlds.
